Kitty Hawk is now carrying birdsFor those of us shipping birds within the United States, the great news of the new year is that Kitty Hawk, the airline for Fed Ex, is accepting birds on behalf of the USPS as of November, 2005. There is a surcharge of $1.00 per pound, a small price to pay for their service. Birds are still shipped via Express mail by the USPS, but with the addition of Kitty Hawk – we can send them to many more destinations. Kitty Hawk is very cognizant of weather, so in freezing, stormy or hot weather, they will not accept shipments. Check before shipping.
