Rules of Release

  1. Release only well trained, well cared for WHITE DOVES from white racing pigeon stock. These are also known as Rock Doves or Columba livia.  Under no circumstance are other types of doves to be release, although other types may be used for display.
  2. Release doves out-of-doors during daylight hours.
  3. Never release birds if the conditions become unsafe due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. 
  4. Do not release birds beyond a range that they are able to safely fly.
  5. Use only well trained birds for releases.
  6. While birds are being held for display, assure that they are in baskets that are large enough to be comfortable and safe.  The baskets or cages will be kept in safe areas, not too hot or too cold.
  7. Never ship birds for self release.

Standards of Care

  1. All members must be knowledgeable in the care and training of white doves. 
  2. Birds must be cared for and housed in lofts that are not over crowded or unsanitary.
  3. Birds are cared for humanely and their health is of utmost priority.
  4. Birds will be well fed with fresh water available at all times. 

Code of Conduct

  1. Inquiries from clients should be answered professional and quickly.  If you cannot do a release, recommend your customers to other members of the White Dove Society.
  2. Arrive on time for your engagements.  Dress professionally. 
  3. Displays at releases should be professional and clients treated with the utmost respect. 
  4. Don't try to undercut other White Dove Release professionals with tactics that are underhanded.  It reflects on the entire industry.
  5. If a release has to be cancelled due to weather or other circumstances that are not caused by the customer, monies and deposits will be returned in a fair way.  If deposits are withheld, be sure there is a prior understanding.
